A PIECE OF LOUVRE IN FLORENCE

Around 1930, Baron Rothschild donated a vast collection of drawings and engravings to the Musée du Louvre. Extensive studies conducted by the Louvre's Département des Arts Graphiques have revealed a number to be the work of Italian Renaissance masters.
This year, thanks to the fruitful collaboration between the Fondazione Casa Buonarroti and the Département, it is Florence's honor to host these works, never before shown in Italy.
The exhibition, Disegni del Louvre: Il Rinascimento italiano nella Collezione Rothschild, (Drawings from the Louvre: The Italian Renaissance in the Rothschild Collection) will run from 27 May to 14 September at Casa Buonarroti, in Florence, and includes a section of remarkable, double-sided International Gothic drawings. However, the heart of the exhibition lies in the roughly 65 drawings and engravings by Pisanello, Jacopo Salimbeni, Leonardo Da Vinci, Raffaello, Fra Bartolomeo, Benozzo Bozzoli, Maso Finiguerra, Niccolò Dell’Abate, Perin del Vaga, Battista Franco and other masters of the 15th and 16th centuries.
The exhibition will run from 27 May to 14 September,
Casa Buonarroti, Via Ghibellina 70
Open to the public: 9:30 – 16:00 (Closed Tuesday)
